A bird feeder for the modern yard.
Made from 100% recycled plastic. Even the rope is 100% recycled.
Helsinki-based bird enthusiasts Mika & Julie Tolvanen designed Bird Silo, the debut product for Pidät. They studied the eating habits of birds for several years by feeding them from prototypes at their dining room window.
“We wanted to design a functional sculpture. We also thought Bird Silo should be a bird feeder whose impact on nature is just feeding the birds.”
Designed to function like a grain silo - You lift the top cone, pour in sunflower seeds or peanuts, and the feeder fills from the bottom up.
Size: 177mm x 230mm (7” x 9”)
The feeder is designed for easy assembly and disassembly. All the parts can be separated and recycled - starting the circle of reuse again.
- 100% recycled polypropylene bird feeder trays and cap
- 100% recycled P.E.T. polyester rope
- Stainless steel hardware
Replacement parts are available if need, ensuring your quality bird feeder has a long and plentiful life.
Bird Silo is a specialty feeder that caters to birds who like to cling vertically while eating.
Ornithologists recommend offering only enough food that will be consumed in a couple of days, especially during wet weather. Storms or extended rainy weather can dampen the seeds. In rainy weather, it is best to offer sunflower seeds with the shells still on, since the shell protects the hearts from moisture.
Replace food often to avoid bacteria that could harm your feathered friends. Wash your feeder by hand regularly with soap and warm water (but not in the dishwasher).
Please note: Millet, a grain found in many bird seed mixes, is not recommended for birds in the northern hemisphere that visit this type of feeder. It can remain uneaten and collect moisture.
